You must know how to ride your bikes to fully apprecieate them. Here is the training guide that I used and found most helpful.
At Bike Vintage, we know that you'll love our bicycles
A collection of bicycles tends to quickly occupy whatever space you are willing to dedicate to it, and then some. Unless you are willing to sleep on a bike and watch TV sitting on another one, you'll need a bike rack. Maybe more that one. Commercial bike racks come in all shapes and sizes and offer great ways of preserving space. Even cheap bike racks help preserve the condition of your cherished vintage bike, and there are some ingenious designs. Good ones are also equipped with ample storage for spare tires and other accessories. We have seen some very clever uses of space by fellow collectors, making every cubic inch count with the use of wall mount and ceiling racks. And then, of course, there is the wholly different story of putting your collection on display in a well-organized way. One-of-a-kind vintage bikes don't deserve being stored in a garage; they need to be shown to people.
Also, if you use your bikes at all for the primary purpose of riding, chances are that you will need a vehicle bike rack as well. A large assortment of gizmos is available to transport your bikes in, on, and under your car or truck. Transporting a collector's bike requires additional caution. It must be well-protected from the elements and potential damage. Thule bike racks are known for reliability and a wide assortment of mounting options, but there is a myriad of other manufacturers.
This Masi is a desirable California model from the mid-70's. The serial number is MC620790.
The bike is in near perfect original condition with everything totally original and beautiful glossy paint. We would rate the bike a 9.7 out of 10. The only non-original parts are the brake lever hoods. The bicycle was originally owned by a couple with a stable of bikes. They appear to be more recreational riders and did not put a lot of miles on this bike. The tubular tires are quite new and have been professionally glued on by a bike mechanic.
Perhaps the world's finest touring bike, ready to take on safari in Africa or across the Rockies here. This bike was purchased around two years ago by a 65 year old man, ridden in total less than 50 miles. The condition is near perfect, close to getting a brand new bike. All components are factory original and show no wear. The tires still have their original molding nubs, so mileage is extremely low.
Bruce Gordon describes this bike as "Designed for serious loaded touring, with tubing and frame geometry that ensures a stable ride." Every component is hand selected by Bruce and designed to withstand the rigors of touring. Handling and stability of the bike is simply superb. This bike is American made, the frame and fork are TIG welded by Bruce. Top tube measures 53cm center to center, seat tube is 47 cm center to top of top tube. Wheelbase is 106 cm. 3 sets of brazed on water bottle bosses, brazed on bosses for brakes. Frame color is metallic black.
Bruce sells this fully loaded bike with both front and rear racks for $3349. I am including a set of high quality front panniers plus a water bottle and cage and assembly (he charges extra for this). Adjustment of all components is perfect.
Our price is Sold, anywhere in the continental US. Payment is via Google Checkout or you can pick the bike up in person here in central Connecticut.
Packing:
This bike and other bikes will be professionally packed in a double cardboard box with all frame tubes wrapped for extra security. The front and rear racks, panniers and other smaller removed items will be sent in a second box. We're into cycling and can fully appreciate preserving a bikes condition.
